Wais-salapi: Pasig City holds financial literacy seminar for employees

Around 400 employees of the Pasig City local government participated in a financial literacy seminar to enhance their knowledge in handling their finances and making sound financial decisions.

Moderated by renowned motivational speaker and businessman Chinkee Tan, the seminar tackled the importance of fully understanding the basic financial principles in making effective financial decisions such as budgeting, saving, and investing on businesses and properties.

"Sa tulong ng pagbabahagi ni Mr. Chinkee Tan sa kanyang kaalaman tungkol sa pananalapi, kabilang na rin ang tungkol sa pagnenegosyo, layong magabayan ang mga kawani ng lokal na pamahalaan sa pagpaplanong pinansyal para sa kanilang kinabukasan, tulad ng paghahanda para sa kanilang pagreretiro at pagtugon sa pangangailangan personal at ng kanilang mga pamilya (With the help of Mr. Chinkee Tan, the seminar aims to guide the employees of the local government in their financial plans for their future such as preparing for their retirement and responding to their personal and family financial needs)," the city government explained.

Aside from being a businessman and motivational speaker, Tan is also a topnotch wealth coach and author of numerous books about wealth and health management.

Known not just in creating innovative projects and initiatives for the betterment of the lives of Pasig's residents, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto also spearheaded programs for local government unit (LGU) employees that help them improve their way of life.

Among them is the city's Balik Aral Program which allows employees of the city government finish their studies while performing their tasks as public servants.

"Ang Balik Aral Program ay nagbibigay ng oportunidad sa mga empleyado ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Pasig para makabalik sa pag-aaral at makapagtapos ng kolehiyo ang mga ito habang nagtatrabaho. Ito ay tulong ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Pasig na libreng college education at special working student program para sa mga empleyado ng Pasig City Government dahil naniniwala ang pamunuan nito na nararapat na bigyan ng pagkakataon ang lahat sa de-kalidad na edukasyon (The Balik Aral Program provides the opportunity to employees of the Pasig city government to go back to their studies and finish college while working. This is the city's way of giving free college education and special working student program for employees of the Pasig City government as a testament to its leadership's belief that everyone should be given the chance to have quality education)," the LGU explained.
