2 stabbing suspects nabbed in Navotas
Two men were arrested for stabbing a man dead in Navotas City on Sunday before dawn.
Police identified the victim as Samuel Sandagan, 38, resident of Tañong, Malabon.
Arrested were Ronnie Blanco, 36, resident at Barangay Bangkulasi, Navotas City; and Alvin Cervantes, 24, resident of Dulong Street, Navotas City.
According to a witness who police identified as Ericson Santos, he and the victim were walking home from a birthday party along Governor Pascual Interior Street, Barangay San Jose on Saturday evening when they were cornered by the suspects.
Blanco stabbed Sandagan on his neck. The witness tried to pacify the two, but he was strangled by Cervantes.
After the suspects fled on foot, Sandagan was rushed to Navotas City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police Chief Investigator Aldrin Thompson said the suspects were arrested in a follow up operation at about 12:10 a.m.
Two kitchen knives, one 13 inches long and the other 15 inches long, were also retrieved from the suspects.
Thompson said they have yet to determine a motive behind the killing as both suspects deny committing the crime.
The chief investigator added that the suspects and the victim were drunk during the incident.

Two drug peddlers and one drug user arrested in separate Pasay police ops
Two alleged drug peddlers, including a 60-year-old woman were arrested by Intelligence operatives of the Pasay City Police Saturday night.
The suspects were identified by authorities as Lily Jutic, 60, a resident of Sambakal St., Kalayaan Barangay 201, Zone 20, Pasay City; and Narcisa Perez, 54, a resident of Teachers Bliss, Barangay 201, Zone 20, Pasay City.
Investigation showed that the two were arrested at around 10:30 p.m. along Kalayaan Street Barangay 201, Zone 20, Pasay City
Police recovered from them five small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu including one digital weighing scale and one stainless scissor.
Meanwhile, a lone drug user was arrested by members of the Arnaiz-Taft Police Community Precinct in an anti-criminality operation along Interior Macopa corner Tramo St. Barangay 57, Zone 8, Pasay City.
The suspect was identified as Florendo Sorenta, 29, a resident of San Antonio, Baclaran, Pasay City. Police recovered from him were one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu, one aluminum foil strip, one rolled tooter, and one disposable lighter.
Suspects were turned over to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasay City Police for investigation and will be facing drug charges. (Dhel Nazario)
2 men shot, stabbed, beaten
Police are looking for two brothers who shot, stabbed, and mauled two men in Valenzuela City Saturday night.
The victims were identified as Jacky Pinca, 28; and Rodito Samson, 31, both construction workers.
The suspects are Ricky Estillana, and Joel Estillana, a construction worker.
A witness, Joshua Miralpes said he was inside a house on Salvacion Look, Gen T. De Leon, when he heard two gunshots outside.
Looking out, he saw Pinca sprawled on the pavement and Ricky holding a knife wrapped in a towel. A bleeding Samson was trying to stop Ricky from stabbing him.
Later, he saw Joel arrive and hit Samson with a piece of wood.
Miralpes then ran away.
The two victims sustained stab wounds on different parts of their body, while Pinca had a gunshot wound on his nape.
Police said the suspects were confronting the victims after Pinca accused Ricky of stealing his bicycle. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
