Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes of San Juan City Police identified the first suspect as Marlon Magbintang, 47, of Barangay Balong Bato, San Juan. Investigation showed that Magbintang was arrested at around 9 p.m. just a few meters away from his house on F. Roman Street in Barangay Balong Bato by the members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU). Police said the suspect was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop who posed as a buyer. Reyes shared that Magbintang was first arrested on March 2016 for possessing and selling illegal drugs. After spending two months in jail, Magbintang was released due to his case being dismissed. Meanwhile, more than an hour later, SDEU team arrested a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver allegedly involved in illegal drug peddling activities in the same neighborhood. Reyes identified the suspect as Marvin Ravina, 35, Grab driver, of Barangay Balong Bato who just parked his vehicle prior to his arrest. The suspect was collared by the anti-narcotic operatives at around 10:30 p.m. at the same street where the first drug suspect was nabbed. Reyes said the arrest was based on reports that Ravina was a drug peddler who used his house as a drug den for his customers. The police are still verifying if the suspect used his vehicle for his illegal drug trade. Reyes added that the drug pushers admitted to their crime and that they sourced their supply from Sta. Mesa, Manila. Police recovered a total of four sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects and the buy-bust money. Suspects will face the charge for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
