3.4-M shabu seized in Pasay drug bust Joint anti-narcotics operatives nabbed four alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Pasay City on Monday, yielding 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million. Pasay City Police Chief Senior Supt. Noel Flores identified the suspects as John Michael Laureta, 29, a resident of Pasay Boulevard, Barangay 128, Pasay City; Mark XanderLaureta, 29; Bryan Villabiga, 36 at Aldrin Alba, 28 – all residents of M. Dela Cruz, Barangay 127, Pasay City. According to investigation, members of the Pasay City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a buy-bust operation at around 12:00 noon along Pasay Boulevard, Barangay 128 in Pasay. An undercover police officer according to Flores was able to purchase shabu from the suspects resulting to their arrest. Police confiscated from the suspects five knot-tied plastic bags of shabu weighing approximately 500 grams with an estimated street value of P3.4 million. The suspects will be facing drug charges before the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office. (Dhel Nazario) Three shot dead by two armed men aboard motorcycle Three persons including two who were fast asleep were shot dead by two unidentified armed men on board a motorcycle while inside their home Tuesday in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City. The victims who died on the spot, were identified by police as Jennifer Gerona, 30, jobless; Jomar Marinay 27, a canteen assistant; and one only known as "Jojo." In the report submitted by Taguig City Police Chief Senior Supt. Alexander Santos, the incident occurred at around 5:55 a.m. at the victims' home on NP Cruz Ibayo, Barangay Ubusan, Taguig City. According to a witness who lives near the area, the suspects first gunned down Jojo who was sitting outside their house. They then proceeded inside and shot the two other victims who were sleeping. The witness added that after making sure they were dead, the suspects fled on board a motorcycle. The police are still facing a blank wall on the motive behind the shooting. They are still checking if there are security cameras in the area that might have captured the incident. Neighbors of the victims on the other hand, have no idea regarding the activities of the three, or if they had previous involvement in illegal undertakings. (Dhel Nazario) Old man nabbed for shoplifting two bottles of liquor in Pasig An old man was arrested for shoplifting two bottles of hard liquor he was planning to sell to buy his medications in Pasig City Monday. Police identified the suspect as Antonio Marinas, 60, of Barangay Sagad, Pasig. SPO2 Romeo Taguilan, investigator on case, told the Manila Bulletin in a text message that Marinas confessed he is going to sell the bottles of liquor to buy medications for his sickness. “Ibinebenta niya para magkapera, may sakit kasi ‘yung suspect pambili daw nya ng gamot...para sa hika (He is selling the liquor to earn since he is sick and he needs money to buy medicine... for his asthma),” Taguilan said. It appears that this is not the first time that the suspect took items from the store, the investigator shared. “Pangalawang beses na pala niyang nagawa ‘yun. Noong una hindi siya nahuli pero nakunan siya ng close-circuit television (CCTV) ayon dun sa store supervisor (This is the second time that the suspect did it . He was not caught on the first time but he was captured on CCTV, the according to the store supervisor).” Investigation showed that at around 7 a.m., Marinas posed as customer and entered Ministop Rotunda Branch on Pasig Boulevard in Barangay Caniogan. The suspect then took two 200 ml bottles of Johnnie Walker hard liquor both valued at P790 then quietly proceeded to the exit, police said. Store supervisor Bingrace Sola noticed the suspect and approached him, but Marinas ran away. This prompted Sola to ask assistance from a traffic enforcer station nearby who chased and caught the suspect. The suspect is now detained at Pasig City police detention cell and will face charges of theft. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas) Alleged robber arrested in Marikina An alleged robber who posed as an ordinary commuter was apprehended after he held up a tricycle driver in Marikina City early Tuesday morning, November 6. Police arrested 21-year-old Julius Taliente, a resident of Aurora, Quezon City. According to a police report, Taliente robbed Ronaldo Leosala, 39, while they were travelling along J.P. Rizal St. in Barangay Kalumpang, Marikina City around 12:30 a.m. The victim said that Taliente asked him to bring him to Cubao, QC. But before reaching their destination, he declared the hold-up. Out of fear, Leosola gave the suspect his earnings. Police said he gave Taliente P100 after he begged him to spare P90 for the allowance of his child. The victim immediately reported the incident to cops after the suspect fled. After a follow-up operation on the same day, Taliente was collared by cops. He is now detained at the Marikina police headquarters' detention cell. (Jel Santos)
