ILOILO CITY – Restrictions in this city will be eased as the month-long Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) finally comes to an end Sunday, Aug. 15.
In Executive Order No. 2021-75-A, Mayor Jerry Treñas outlined the protocols for Iloilo City as new COVID-19 cases decreased and it will revert to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) starting Monday, Aug.16.
“I signed an executive order to make amendments to our protocols,” said Treñas in a statement released Sunday, Aug. 15.
While mass gatherings are still prohibited in Iloilo City, there are certain changes, including operations of businesses and other entities.
Based on the guidelines set by the national government’s Inter Agency Task Force (IATF), restaurants can allow 10 percent dine-in and 50 percent al fresco dining.
Religious-based gatherings can also be at 10 percent of the venue’s capacity.
“Despite the lower classification (status), let us be responsible for protecting the community, The temporary ban on inbound travel will also be lifted. This will means that the city is able to accept the entry of returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWS) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
