Sony Xperia XZ1 is designed for people craving for media overload

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is the latest Android smartphone out on the market, a comfy and thinner version (148x73.7.4 mm, 156 grams) from the Sony Xperia series. Launched last August, the latest version should be a hit with folks who are looking for a mobile phone capable of handling gaming, music and media.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 retains its boxy mold, a rectangular design that Sony has been using the past years. It made a slight change in the infinite loop design, now extending to the top and bottom part of the smartphone.

Overall, the design hardly offers significant changes with Sony retaining the bezel-heavy design.

Up front, the Sony Xperia XZ1 features a smaller 5.2-inch Full HD HDR display (1080x1920 pixels). The SIM and microSD tray is located on the left side of the device while the volume control, dedicated camera button and power button are found at the right portion.

The device boasts of dual front-facing speakers, featuring S-Force surround technology. With 50-percent more sound pressure, folks who plan to watch videos or do some gaming should expect better audio compliment.

The real story behind the Sony Xperia XZ1 is from the inside. It comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset complimented by 4 GB of RAM.

It also comes with 64 GB of ROM, a 13 MP front-facing camera and 19 MP primary camera.

The new Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with a 2,700 mAh battery, smaller but surprising efficient to keep it up. It comes with Android 8.0 out of the box.

It is also IP65/68 certified, meaning the Sony Xperia XZ1 should be excellent to go in rugged environments and can survive even if submerged in water.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is something that easily stands in between the latest devices from Apple and Samsung. However, considering it depends on what a consumer is looking for.

With the detailed specs mentioned, there is no question that the Sony Xperia XZ1 is something made for folks looking for a better media experience outside the basic functionalities a phone comes with.
