The Philippine Hospitals Association (PHA) named Novaliches District Hospital (NDH) and Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) among the best in the country, a testament to the city’s commitment to improving the health of its citizens.

In simple rites held at the historic Manila Hotel recently, the PHA cited the two government-operated hospitals for “their outstanding contributions to the field of best practices for excellence in healthcare.”
Having satisfied the criteria set by the PHA for this year’s annual recognition, the NDH was recognized as the Most Outstanding Level 1 Government Hospital while the QCGH was lauded as one of the Outstanding Level 3 Government Hospitals in the country, joining other Department of Health-owned hospitals.
Quezon City is the only local government unit which brought home two awards from this year's ceremony.
“With the honor brought by the award comes the greater responsibility and challenge to further improve its services for the benefit of QC residents,’’ NDH director Dr. Eduardo Aldana said.
"NDH is moving towards institutionalizing more programs, projects, policies, and activities towards fostering and strengthening a culture of patient safety, positive patient experience, and organizational performance.” he added.
For her part, QCGH director Dr. Josephine Sabando said it was their hospital’s goal to be on par with other excellent medical centers in the country.
"We have fulfilled QCGH’s vision to become one of the best local government hospitals in the Philippines. This serves as an inspiration to us to sustain our programs and develop more quality services for our patients because this recognition is based on excellence in the field of training, service, research, and good governance,” Sabando said.
