DLSU grad tops November 2019 Chemical Engineer board exam

By Patrick Garcia A graduate of De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU-Manila) topped the November 2019 chemical engineer licensure examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Wednesday. Out of the 1,259 examinees, Martin Zechariah Magat Valencia led the 899 passers and garnered an 86.10% passing rate. Completing the top 10 were Maru Feriel Olivan Del Carmen of University of the Philippines-Diliman (second, 85.80%), Chester Jules Antonio Tantoco of University of the Philippines-Los Banos (third, 84.70%), Mark Nikko Estocapio Alfon of University of the Philippines-Visayas-Iloilo City and Rex Gregor Manalo Laylo of Batangas State University-Alangilan (both fourth, 84.20%), Edward Jan Casuyon Bacalso of University of Mindanao-Davao City (fifth, 83.90%), Daniel Ian Fernando Lumandas of University of the Philippines-Diliman (sixth, 83.60) Perry Kiwang Compala of Saint Louis University and Jaron Nicolas Tung Uy of University of the Philippines-Diliman (both seventh, 83.50%), John Anthony Camacho Kho of University of the Philippines-Diliman and MC Jason Luardo Laurete of Xavier University (both eight, 83.10%), Joemarie Ramos Domingo of Cagayan State Univerity-Tuguegarao (ninth, 82.80%), and Ronald Eldrick De Chavez Guico (tenth, 82.60%). The University of the Philippines-Diliman was the top-performing school with a 100% passing rate. PRC and the Board of Chemical Engineering, composed of Engr. Ofelia V. Bulaong, Chairman; Engr. Jeffrey G. Mijares and Engr. Cyd P. Aguilera, Members, administered the Chemical Engineer board exam on November 23, 24 and 25. The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new batch of mechanical engineers have yet to be announced.
