The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will set up 24 job fair sites across the country to facilitate the hiring of more than 64,000 job vacancies here and abroad.

Of the total of 64,485 job vacancies, a total of 52,237 of them are for local employment while the rest of the 12,248 are job vacancies in various countries.

The top vacancies for local employment are production and machine operators, customer service representatives, collection specialist, sales agent and promodiser and market research interviewer.

For overseas employment, the top job vacancies are nurses and nurse aides, waiters, household service workers, kitchen helper or assistant cook and salespersons. The top destinations are Middle East, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.

In a statement, DOLE said the job fairs will be set up in almost all regions on May 1 in celebration of the Labor Day.

In Cordillera Administrative Region, applicants can go to Baguio Convention Center while those from Cagayan Valley Region should go to the Robinsons Place Santiago, Isabela. Those in Central Luzon should go to the Kingsborough International Convention Center (Main Event) in San Fernando, Pampanga.

In Region 4A, the job fair sites are at the St. Thomas Academy Gymnasium, Poblacion 3, City of Sto. Tomas, Batangas; Vista Mall, San Agustin, Dasmariñas, Cavite; Camp Vicente Lim, Brgy. Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna; Pacific Mall, ML Tagarao St., Brgy 3, Lucena City, Quezon; and, Ynares Event Center Capitol Grounds, Antipolo City, Rizal. Job applicants in Region 4B will be entertained at the Robinsons Place Palawan, National Highway, Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City.

The Robinsons Place Naga in Camarines Sur is the job fair location in Bicol region while in Western Visayas, it is at the SM City Iloilo, Iloilo City. In Central Visayas, the site is at the SM Trade Hall, SM City Cebu, Juan Luna Ave. Ext., Cebu City and Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City; while in Eastern Visayas is the Robinsons North Tacloban.

In Mindanao, the job fair sites are East Wing, Ground Floor, KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Zamboanga City; University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Cagayan de Oro City; NCCC Victoria, Bajada, Davao City; KCC Events Center, KCC Mall of Marbel, Koronadal City, and, Robinsons Place Butuan.

In Metro Manila, DOLE said the job fair locations is at the Arroceros Forest Park, Manila Parañaque City Hall Grounds.

Except in Northern Mindanao where the job fair is on April 28, all the other job fair sites will open on May 1. In Metro Manila, it would be a four-day job fair starting May 1.
