J&T Express has signed three former champions who will see action for the debuting team in the second season of the PBA 3X3.
The courier service company will be one of the newest teams in the tournament which will begin Saturday, Sept. 10.
The squad announced the signing of Marvin Hayes, Robin Roño and Joseph Sedurifa, all members of champion teams in the previous season, along with Jeric Teng and Keith Datu, and playing-coach Ryan Monteclaro.
“For me, it’s a challenge which I’m excited to do. We can’t play forever eh, so it’s a good opportunity for me. From there, learn every single practice, every single game, and just try to learn (together) with the players. Hopefully, maging fruitful ‘yong first season ko as a coach,” said Monteclaro.
With former champions on his roster, Monteclaro said that building team chemistry was never an issue heading into the opening game.
Teng is also looking forward to his debut with the courier giant.
“Of course, our expectations are high kasi syempre J&T is a big company and gusto namin masuklian ‘yong trust na binigay nila on signing us. We’ve been practicing really hard and getting ready for this coming season,” said Teng. (Nikole Javier)
