Steal looks and boost productivity with the new Dell XPS 13

By Jonnah Lynne Pante Screenshot_27 As if their premium laptop’s luxurious design isn’t enough, Dell once again steals the show with another solid offering that mirrors its elegant design to its powerful internals. The Dell XPS 13 with all of what it has to offer can easily be anyone’s dream laptop. Leading Dell’s pack of high-end laptops, the Dell XPS 13 hails from the company’s flagship lineup which kind of explains why it looks so sleek and has a master performance. Dubbed as the world’s smallest 13-inch laptop, one of the attributes of this device that we appreciated a lot is its  lightweight and portable body which in no way compromise its performance. Given this, the Dell XPS 13 is an ideal buddy to those who spend most of their busy work days on-the-go. Accounting one of its strongest features to its display, the Dell XPS 13 comes with a 13.3-inch 4K Ultra HD InfinityEdge Touch Display which can have a screen resolution of either 1,920 x 1,080 pixels or 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. What makes the Dell XPS 13’s display special is the addition of the DellCinema technology which further amplifies users’ viewing and gaming experience with an enhanced screen and audio quality. Oozing with strength and power from the inside, the Dell XPS 13 runs on the latest 8th Gen Intel Quad Core i7 8550U processor with configurations of 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage and 16GB + 512GB onboard storage.Obviously, either of the two will give you a lag-free and an unparalleled smooth performance on top of a Windows 10 Home system. Using the Dell XPS 13 as our daily driver for two weeks, the device gave us a maximum of a 9-hour use in a single charge. Since the Dell XPS 13 comes with a USB Type-C 3.1 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports which can be used for file transfer and charging, this laptop fuels up its 52 watt-hour juice in less than an hour. Speaking of ports, other than the above-mentioned, the Dell XPS 13 comes with a headphone jack, a microSD card reader, and a noble lock slot. Its other hardware features other than the standard touchpad include a circular fingerprint reader located at the upper left part of the keyboard, and a 720p webcam, which unlike other laptops with a webcam located at the top bezel of the screen, Dell XPS13’s webcam strangely sits on the middle of the screen and the keyboard. This should be a feature of the Dell XPS 13 that we didn’t like that much for the reason that we had to repeatedly adjust it everytime we use it just so that it won’t focus either on our neck, chin, or nose. By and large, the revamped version of the Dell XPS 13 should definitely be an item on every techie’s list of must-haves. It comes in posh colors of silver, black, and rose gold, and is sold with a starting price of P99,990.
