IGUIG, Cagayan – A doctor assigned to the Rural Health Unit of Reina Mercedes, Isabela died when the car he was driving rammed a tractor trailer truck on the national highway in Barangay Salamague, this town, last Saturday.
The Cagayan Provincial Police Office identified victim as Dr. Noli Cabildo, single, 29, and a resident of Agani, Alcala, this province.
Investigation showed that Fernando Urian, 61, of Barangay Iringan, Allacapan, Cagayan, driver of the Isuzu tractor trailer truck with license plates AAR-2147, parked on the side of the road to buy ice candy from a store at about 4 p.m.
Urian heard an explosion as he was about to leave from the rear portion of the trailer bed. He checked and saw a severely injured Cabildo on the driver’s seat of his Nissan Terra with conduction sticker F3 Y171.
Cabildo was taken by rescuers to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City where he was declared dead. Urian was taken to the Iguig police station for investigation.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property have been filed against Urian.
The case was filed by Cabildo’s mother Alejandra with the assistance of the Iguig police before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
