Korean actor Kim Hyun-joong stars in a drama after four years. This is his first drama project in four years since starring in “Inspiring Generation” in 2014. That year, his former girlfriend filed assault charges against him and the following year, she revealed that she was pregnant with his baby. Amid the scandal, Kim Hyun-joong enlisted in the military in May 2015 and was discharged in February last year. In April last year, he was involved in a case of driving under the influence. Early this year, a court found his former girlfriend guilty of fraud in a lawsuit filed by the actor. At the press conference for the drama, Kim Hyun-joong said, “It’s not the most comfortable thing to be here now, personally. I want to be as honest as possible with the press as well as promoting the show.” “I couldn’t do anything while in the military about the things that went on outside,” he added, according to K-pop Herald. Kim Hyun-joong said while completing his military service, “I had time to focus on myself and contemplate how I could do better. After conscription, things (outside the military) were a bit different from my expectations. It’s a little overwhelming to face the reality.” He said he “thought about whether my life was a failure and what I could do to find happiness.” “That’s why I decided to do music and acting again. These days I just want to be happy in the moment without worrying too much about the future,” he said.
