PH trading firm president to vie for Mrs. Grandma Universe in Bulgaria

An owner of a trading company who is based in New York, USA will represent the Philippines in the Mrs. Grandma Universe in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 23. She also said that her family is supportive of her quest for a pageant crown. "When national director Tatta Saguin chose me to represent Mrs. Grandma Universe, I immediately informed my loved ones and they gave me the go-signal to do it," said Arquero, who has two children and three grandchildren. Her preparations include going to the gym to look and feel healthy, doing some paper works for visa, and choosing outfits for talent, national costume, and evening gown competitions. Arquero was born in Tondo, Manila but grew up in Mindanao where she finished business administration in college. Her father was a military officer. She has been active in doing charity works such as helping the "Silongan" street children of Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro-Misor Association, St. Jude Hospital, and has joined activities against autism. She also promised to support other charitable organizations, especially that of Mrs. Grandma Universe under Megi Savova. Asked what makes Filipino beauty queens stand out, Arquero said: "Filipinas are smart and talented that's why they shine in pageants. They personify hard work and excellence in everything they do." Arquero said that the Mrs Grandma Universe pageant journey is important to her because she wants to prove to others that age is not a hindrance to success. "Through this pageant, I would be able to show to the universe that age is not a barrier in reaching your goals and in helping others. It’s love, kindness, and beauty that I really care about," she said. Arqueto said her national costume will be inspired by the Philippines national bird "Agila" or "eagle." "I want to show them that like an eagle that flies in the sky, I am ready to face the challenges ahead and reach for my dreams," she said.
