Senator Juan Edgardo M. Angara is scheduled to sponsor in today’s plenary session two money bills certified as urgent by President Duterte.

‘’Yes (I) will sponsor both certified bills later and hopefully we can pass both on second and third reading not later than tomorrow our last session day,’’ Angara told Senate reporters.
Angara, chairman of the Senate finance committee, said that in their caucus, his colleagues in the Senate seemed supportive of passing the bills.
These pertain to the Bayanihan 2 law and extending the life of the 2020 national budget to 2021.
Copies of the bills as approved by the House of Representatives had already been sent to the Senate.
Senator Panfilo M. Lacson said he would vote for the two bills.
‘’Yes, in fact I already manifested during our majority caucus yesterday that I will support the extension of the validity of both the 2020 GAA (General Appropriations Act or national budget) up to December 2021 as well as the Bayanihan 2 law until June 2021 only because of the spending limitations forced upon the different government agencies by the pandemic as early as the first quarter of this year,’’ Lacson, vice chairman of the Senate finance committee, said.
