Bela Padilla raises funds for displaced vendor; Marvin Agustin volunteers use of kitc
Bela Padilla couldn’t help but be grateful she was able to raise more than three million pesos for donation to displaced vendors due to the novel coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The actress set up an a GoGetFunding page under the campaign "Pagkain Para sa Pinoy."
“During this inevitable pandemic, there will be a lot of Filipinos who wont be able to rely on their normal sources of income. Our favorite taho, dirty ice cream and bananacue vendors wont be able to secure enough money to guarantee food for their families at the end of the day for one month until our community quarantine is over. lets look out for them please and donate what we can and lets split the money we raise 16 ways for the 16 cities of Metro Manila affected by this temporary lockdown,” the GoGetFunding description read.
Bela was able to reach the intended goal for 48 hours after it was announced on Monday.
“We hit the target of 1,000,000 pesos!!!! Thank you!!! Looking for the best deals for food now and hopefully be able to deliver everything this week! THANK YOU,” she posted on social media upon learning the good news.
The proceeds will go directly to the “right people,” she noted.
A total of 830 supporters have donated P1,025,491 (102 percent of goal) as of writing to Bela's fundraiser. There are 13 days left for the campaign to finish.
Marvin Agustin, on the other hand, has offered to open his kitchen, that way they can make more food to those affected by the pandemic.
“Lets look for cooks or chefs who can volunteer. This is an inexpensive approach so you can make more food, ” Marvin said in his message to Bela.
