Subaru unveils the new Forester GT Edition

32020Forester3 Early in January, we were treated to a sneak peek of the upcoming Subaru Forester GT Edition at the Singapore Motor Show. Finally, Motor Image Pilipinas Inc., exclusive distributor of Subaru took the wraps off the new Subaru Forester GT Edition at their Pasig showroom last Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Like the XV GT Edition, this new Forester GT Edition is designed in collaboration with Giken Co. Ltd and Masahiko Kobayashi, who was the former Chief Designer of Subaru Corporation in Japan. Exterior The Forester GT Edition includes improvements to distinguish it from regular Foresters. The improved exterior features a four-piece aero kit, composed of a front bumper lip extension, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and rear bumper lip extension. These are supplemented by and special edition GT Edition 18-inch alloy wheel. All these combine to give it a sportier and more aggressive look, fitting the Grand Tourer badge. 32020forester4 Interior Inside, the GT Edition gets special new leather upholstery. The seats get new white contrast padding on both the front and rear seats. For entertainment, there’s a new eight-inch entertainment system display. This system comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Projected onto that screen is the new 360-degree Superview Around camera system which helps drivers park or maneuver with ease. Standard features Along with these new features, you get as standard over 100 safety features along with Subaru’s Boxer Engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel drive. The Forester is built on Subaru’s new global platform and equipped with Eyesight Driver Assist Technology. Power Propelling the Forester GT Edition is the familiar 2.0-liter, direct-injection boxer engine. It produces 156-PS along with 196-Nm of torque. Power then drives all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. Safety The Forester GT Edition benefits from all the safety features already offered in the standard Forester. It’s enhanced by the Superview Around Recognition 360 System (360 degree camera system). 32020forester2 “We are proud to introduce the Forester GT Edition to the Philippines.
