The Muntinlupa City government has started the business permit renewal for 2021, holding it in a bigger venue to comply with safety and health protocols under the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the renewal is being held until January 29 at the center court of the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Barangay Tunasan.
He inspected the venue together with Local Economic Investment Promotions officer Gary Llamas and city administrator and Business Permits Licensing officer Allan Cachuela to make sure that it is in compliance with rules.
Strict health standards and distancing protocols are implemented including sterilization and disinfection of submitted documents using ultraviolet box, temperature check, installation of alcohol sprays, and monitoring of sneeze guards or protective barriers.
People going to the venue are advised to wear face masks and face shields and bring their own ballpens for their safety and convenience.
Business taxpayers are instructed to download the StaySafe app on their mobile device to scan the QR code at the entrance of the Renewal Hub for contact tracing purposes. Muntinlupa has partnered with Staysafe.PH through City Ordinance No. 2020-181 to implement a “No QR Code, No Entry Policy” in all establishments for mandatory contact tracing starting January 2021.
Senior citizens will not be allowed entry into the business renewal hub unless they are business owners renewing their permits.
For the convenience of taxpayers, a one-stop shop system has been set up at the business permit renewal hub.
Business taxpayers can pay using debit cards and mobile automated teller machines (ATMs). CCTVs are also installed in the venue. Free shuttle service is provided for clients going to the venue with pick-up points located at Muntinlupa City Hall quadrangle. There are 15,144 registered business establishments in Muntinlupa, the city government said.
BPLO Muntinlupa has also encouraged business taxpayers to renew their business permits online through the Business E-payment SysTem (BEST).
At the start of the business renewal on January 4, Mayor Fresnedi recognized the 10 earliest taxpayers who have processed their business permits. They are Elmer Jesalva of RJ Sari-Sari Store, Milagros Salvador of Mila & Noli Wood Scrap, Elisabeth Sabalboro of Beth S. Sabalboro, Josephine Dejan of FDA Dejan Construction Services, Jocelyn Jalac of Edcon Dacanay Apartment, Melissa Oostendorp of Beecube Inc., Jim Vandevoort of Bob Garon & Vandevoort Consultancy Inc., Cherrie Flores of Mini Mini Store, Ma. Pinky Lynsey Begowa of MPLG Begowa Trading, and Melanie Begowa Ocampo of Rosette Trading.
