Typhoon Ulysses renders 11 road sections in Bicol region impassable

Eleven road sections in the Bicol region are not passable due to Typhoon Ulysses, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar made the announcement early morning Thursday on his social media account.

These are:

· Danao-Pasacao Road Pasacao, Camarines Sur K0424+300

· Pili-Tigaon-Albay Bdry. Road, Brgy. Talojongan, Tigaon, Camarines Sur K0479+500

· Tigaon-Lagonoy Section at Intermittent Section

· Goa-Digdigon-San Isidro Road, Brgy. San Juan Bautista, Goa, Camarines Sur

· Presentacion-Maligaya Road, Brgy. Pili, Presentacion, Camarines Sur

In a summary report by DPWH Region 5, the majority of roads in the region are blocked due to uprooted trees, landslides, and flash floods. The circumferential road in Catanduanes, on the other hand, was again blocked by boulders due to rockslides days after being cleared of debris due to the devastation brought about by Super Typhoon Rolly last week.

The DPWH said maintenance crew and equipment are prepositioned for clearing operations when the strong winds subsides.Â
