Bulacan governor monitors province

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Gov. Daniel R. Fernando  convened the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Thursday and personally monitored flooded areas and families in Bulacan affected by typhoon "Ulysses."

Fernando said that hundreds of families living along coastal and flood-prone areas in Bulacan were evacuated by disaster authorities with local officials and barangay executives on Nov. 11 as a preemptive measure against Ulysses. 

"Mabuti na lamang at napapayag natin ang mga tao sa flood prone areas na lumikas, dahil kung hindi baka nasalanta na sila, dahil ang lakas ng hanging dala ng bagyong Ulysses ay sobra sobra, nakakatakot ang huni at ugong, kahit na humina na ito nang tumama sa Sierra Madre mountain ranges (It's good enough we convinced the people living in the flood-prone areas to evacuate because if they did not, they might be devastated by the winds of typhoon Ulysses with horrifying sounds, despite weakening when striking Sierra Madre mountain ranges)," he said.

"The provincial government of Bulacan is always ready to help affected Bulakenyos. The Bulacan government also don't forget to help the nearby crippled provinces," he added.

The Bulacan governor also said that the Bulacan PDRRMC continues to coordinate with the Pampanga River Flood Forecasting and Warning Center on the possibility of back flooding in  Calumpit and Hagonoy that serves as the catch basin of the Pampanga River.
