Pinoys advised to be cautious on Korean language training centers
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration reminded Filipino job applicants to South Korea to be “more cautious” in dealing with Korean language training centers especially those that promise overseas employment.

POEA said that there are some Korean language centers that are promising employment just to entice their clients to avail themselves of their services.
POEA revealed this kind of illegal recruitment scheme as some Korean language training centers were found to be using the name and logo of POEA in their advertisements, particularly in social media.
Other Korean language training centers, POEA warned, even promise the applicants of a “sure pass” in their Test of Proficiency in Korean, one of the requirements in workers application for work in Korea through the Employment Permit System.
POEA reiterated that it “does not authorize training centers to engage in the recruitment and placement” of overseas Filipino workers.
It reminded that the POEA Government Placement Branch, the government-to-government facility which manages the Korea Employment Permit System in the Philippines, does not accredit any language training.
POEA advised job applicants to South Korea to check the official website of the POEA www.poea.gov.ph or email the POEA Information Center at [email protected] for the announcements on government-to-government hiring for South Korea and the schedules of EPS-TOPIK.
The POEA urges the public to be vigilant and report any suspected illegal recruitment schemes and activities to POEA Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch, Operations and Surveillance Division, by sending an email at [email protected].
