Lili Reinhart tells fans who also gained weight: 'Don't explain yourself'

"Riverdale" star Lili Reinhart took to social media to remind fans that weight gain, especially during the ongoing pandemic, is nothing to be ashamed of.

"If you've gained weight during this pandemic -- like me and millions of others -- just know that you don't need to justify the way you look to anyone.You don't need to "explain" yourself," Reinhart wrote on Twitter.

The actress also addressed body-shamers who comment on others' weight gain.

"Anyone who comments on your weight gain is incredibly insecure. Confident, level-headed people don't insult others," she continued. "Remember that the next time a random person feels the need to comment on your appearance."

"Accept that they are dealing with their own insecurities and move forward will love," the 24-year old ended.

Reinhart is known for portraying Betty Cooper on The CW teen drama series.
