Angono enforces curfew for minors under Alert Level 3

Parents or guardians of minors are advised to warn their kids against roaming the streets in the wee hours of the night starting Jan. 5 as the town and the rest of the province will revert back to Alert Level 3 system.

Elmer Deloritos, executive officer of the Angono Public Safety and Order Office (PSO), told Manila Bulletin that local peace keepers will patrol the streets to arrest violators of curfew and other local ordinances.

Curfew in the “Art Capital of the Country” is from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. A siren at the Plaza Rizal will be sounded signaling the start of the curfew.

Fines for curfew violation range from P1,500 to P2,500.

Face mask policy violators may be fined P500 to P2,500.

Deloritos said although PSO personnel regularly conduct roving day and night to check for violations of local laws and issuances, his men will move around more frequently now that the town is among the provinces that will revert to Alert Level 3 system from Jan. 5 to Jan. 15 based on the latest ruling of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

As of the Jan. 3 data from the Angono Municipal Government, the town has recorded 23 new cases and 31 active cases.

Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon earlier reminded the residents to continue adhering to the government’s health protocols and measures to prevent the spread of the more virulent Omicron variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon was scheduled to hold a meeting with her department heads and executive officers regarding the imposition of the alert level system in the town.
