A man suspected to be the leader of a gun-for-hire group was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bataan.
NBI Director Dante Gierram identified the suspect as Ricardo Linsangan Peralta.
Peralta was caught by the operatives of the NBI’s Special Task Force (NBI-STF) at a farm resort in Barangay Balon Anito in Mariveles, Bataan last December 10.
Gierran said that Peralta was a fugitive, and was apprehended based on the arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 88 of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija where he was facing a murder case.
Aside from this, Gierran said Peralta is also facing other cases in courts, including multiple murder, kidnap for ransom, carnapping and attempted homicide.
The NBI chief disclosed Peralta was also believed to be the leader of a gun-for-hire group operating in Central and Luzon.
Because of this, Gierran said the NBI has long been on the lookout for the whereabouts of Peralta.
After receiving information that Peralta has been seen frequenting Bataan, Gierran said the NBI’s Intelligence and Regional Operations Services was tapped to monitor and verify the location of Peralta.
Gierran said that Peralta has been monitored moving from place to place in Mariveles in his effort to evade authorities.
He said this was why NBI operatives took the opportunity and immediately swooped down at the farm resort upon learning the presence of Peralta there.
