Typhoon "Ompong" slowed down as it moved westward over the Philippine sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In its 11:00 a.m weather bulletin, PAGASA said "Ompong" was last spotted at 725 kilometers (km) East of Virac, Catanduanes.
"Ompong" is expected to make landfall in the northern Cagayan on the morning of September 15 (Saturday).
It moves at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h) in a west direction, with maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gusts reaching 255 km/h.
PAGASA also said the following provinces will be placed under tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) number 1 within 36 hours:
