By Donna Rempillo APALIT, Pampanga – Two repatriates on quarantine at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac have reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Department of Health Region 3. “The two repatriates who tested positive were already isolated and transferred to the hospital for proper management as part of infection control protocol. Contact tracing among the repatriates at NCC was already conducted and decontamination of the vacated rooms was already performed to contain virus transmission,” DOH Region 3 Director Cesar Cassion said. The two repatriates were reportedly among the 400 crew members of the Diamond Princess who arrived at the New Clark City for mandatory quarantine last February 25. Meanwhile Cassion also confirmed that a resident of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan also tested positive for the coronavirus. Although the confirmed case in Bulacan has already been admitted to one of the hospitals in Metro Manila. DOH Central Luzon is still monitoring the close contacts of the person. “We guarantee preparedness of the retained hospitals in the region to readily manage suspect and confirmed cases while the public is encouraged to continuously practice preventive measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and social distancing. To protect one’s health and safety is everyone’s responsibility; everyone is strongly encouraged to cooperate and support the implementation of preventive measures against COVID-19,” Cassion added. Meanwhile, the Pampanga Premier Medical Center (PPMC) said it did not have any patient infected COVID-19 under its care, but is just monitoring a patient in an isolation while awaiting confirmatory results of tests. PPMC Medical Director Ferdinand Mesa said the hospital has strict triage system implemented for the protection of everyone.
