In a report to the Home Office, the Philippine Embassy said the victim, a sales executive from Abra, was hit by a passing car when she stepped out of her vehicle after one of its tires burst.
The accident happened last Thursday on Dubai-Al Ain Highway, a road network that connects that city of Dubai to the interior city of Al Ain.
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn Quintana said the driver of the other vehicle that hit the OFW is now in police custody.
Quintana was able to speak to the victim’s cousin who is also in UAE to convey the embassy’s sympathy.
The envoy assured that the embassy will extend full assistance, including repatriation of the victim’s remains and possible legal assistance from any issue that may arise from the tragic incident.
