Two nabbed for illegal drugs

By Zaldy Comanda BAGUIO CITY â€“ Two drug suspects were arrested in a separate operation conducted by elements of the anti-illegal drugs operatives in Baguio City and the nearby town of Tublay, Benguet. Operatives from Station 7 of the Baguio City Police Office arrested Romeo Oliquino Gallego, 23, welder, a native of Barangay Nueva Cassires Oslov Cebu and presently residing at Barangay San Vicente, Tarlac City inside Center Mall, Upper Magsaysay Road, Baguio City after he was caught in possession of suspected dried marijuana stalk. Confiscated from his possession were two pieces rolled suspected dried marijuana leaves with stalk wrapped in a transparent plastic with undermined weight; Equizone Enterprises Identification card, and green UCPB savings pouch which were all found inside his high Sierra backpack. Drug Enforcement Unit of Tublay Municipal Police Station , Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU 14) arrested Leon Galaw-ey Batore, 33, driver, and resident of Acop, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet at Lower Acop, Tublay, Benguet in the night of August 6 in a buy-bust operation. Batore was onboard his private Rusi motorcycle when the transaction took place that led to his arrest and confiscation of 13 pieces of a transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money amounting to P1,000, and one unit white Nokia cell phone. All seized pieces of evidence were brought to the PNP Regional Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet for examination. Arrested suspects are now under the custody of concerned operating units and charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
