The Muntinlupa City government and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have identified 13 choke points that will be manned starting tonight as the government implements the “community quarantine” including a ban on land, domestic air and domestic sea travel in and out of Metro Manila from March 15 to April 14 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Muntinlupa will be a critical area in implementing the land travel ban as it is bounded by Laguna and Cavite, and is Metro Manila’s gateway to the Calabarzon area. The city has several entry and exit points to and from the two provinces.
According to Muntinlupa public information chief Tez Valencia-Navarro, the 13 choke points in Muntinlupa are:
Tunasan-San Pedro boundary, Brgy. Tunasan, Muntinlupa City ; Buendia St comer Arandia St, Brgy Tunasan, Muntinlupa City; in front of Parco Bello, Victoria Homes, Brgy. Tunasan, Muntinlupa City; Sucat Interchange, Brgy. Sucat, Muntinlupa City; SLEX Tollgate Exit (Westbound), East Service Road, Brgy. Alabang, Muntinlupa City; in front of Petron Gas Station (Southbound), Alabang Viaduct, Muntinlupa City; Sucat-Taguig Boundary, Dr. A Bunyi St, Brgy. Sucat, Muntinlupa City; Marfori Avenue comer East Service Road, Brgy. Sucat, Muntinlupa City; in front of Water Fun, West Service Road, Brgy. Sucat, Muntinlupa City; Muntinlupa-Las Piñas Boundary, Alabang-Zapote Road, Brgy. Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City; in front of Police Outpost, along Investment Drive comer Commerce Avenue, Brgy. Ayala Alabang. Muntinlupa City; Biazon Road corner MCX Road, Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa City; and, Susana Heights Tollgate, Brgy. Tunasan, Muntinlupa City.
Soldiers are already deployed at the Muntinlupa-San Pedro boundary in Tunasan, according to reports as of writing.
The guidelines on who will be allowed to enter and exit Muntinlupa are still being finalized as of press time although Navarro said Muntinlupa residents working outside Metro Manila and vice versa will be allowed provided that they show their ID.
