More than 1,700 apprehended for violating GCQ protocols in Cavite

IMUS CITY, Cavite – At least 1,711 individuals were apprehended by the police in this province for violating the guidelines set by the general community quarantine (GCQ) in the first two days that it was imposed.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported that the bulk of the arrests was quarantine pass violators.
The police command also recorded a number of apprehensions for violation of the rules on curfew hours, wearing of face masks, social distancing and the ban on liquor during the 48 hour period, starting midnight of May 16.
Cavite shifted to the less restrictive GCQ, starting May 16, from enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
A report that the PPO-Public Information Office released on Monday, May 18, showed that the GCQ apprehensions were comprised of 1,001 quarantine pass violators, or individuals who went out of their houses without the required passes; 292 for not wearing face masks. 287 for violating the 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, 73 for social or safe distancing offense and 20 for liquor ban violation.
All the GCQ violators in the province’s eight districts were brought to police stations for documentation and filing of complaint against them.
