A total of 16 beautiful young women from Bataan participated in the pageant dubbed as “Lakambini ng Las Casas,” a program launched by Construction magnate Jerry Acuzar who is the president of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, a world-class resort hotel in this coastal town to entertain visitors.
Erwin Doña, director for marketing of Las Casas, said the beauty pageant program was actually patterned after early 1908, when the first-ever Manila carnival was launched, crowning two queens called Reina del Occidente and Reina del Oriente.
“This is historical as we are tracing and adopting our cultures in the historic past,” pointed out Doña.
The said beauty pageant program of Las Casas was one of the many attractive programs aimed at titillating the public who are visiting in this 5-star resort hotel, a pride of Bataan.
Unlike in the early 90s where balloting was the form of selection from the entry coupon of newspapers, Lakambini’s selection here is through the decision of selected judges.
Doña said that featuring the beautiful women of Bataan is one of Las Casas programs aside from various amenities, unequaled service in this world-class resort hotel.
