ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Philippine National Police has formally installed Brig. Gen. Jesus D Cambay Jr. as the new regional director of the Police Regional Office in Zamboanga peninsula region or PRO-9.
Cambay was installed Thursday as PRO-9 following the latest reshuffle of senior officers in the PNP as ordered by PNP chief General Archie Francisco F Gamboa.
Cambay replaced outgoing PRO-9 director Police Brig Gen Froilan F Quidilla, who is set to retire from the police service on July 3.
Cambay is a native of Lagawe, Ifugao and member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Makatao” Class of 1989.
Prior to his new assignment, Cambay was the Director of PNP Intelligence Group.
He also served as the Police Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) and Deputy Director for Operations (DRDO) of Police Regional Office-6 (Western Visayas).
He was the designated director of the Metro Boracay Task Force (MBTF) where he led the 600 police personnel of Kalibo, Aklan in the peaceful and orderly rehabilitation of Boracay Beach.
The new designation of Cambay has been approved by Gamboa upon the recommendations of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board.
