The Bayan ng Makilala, on its official Facebook page, showed that the eagle was rescued by a child named Joel Arombo, a resident of the same village.
According to Arombo, he saw the young eagle being ganged up on by the crows in a corn plantation area owned by a certain Mrs. Velasco. He immediately ran to the eagle’s rescue and drove the crows away.
The child then sought assistance from the elders in the area to help the eagle.
Bayan ng Makilala said that the local government is set to turn over the eagle to the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) in Davao City this week, for further medication and attention.
The PEF is a non-profit organization in Davao City dedicated to saving the endangered Philippine Eagle.
