Off the bench job again for Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge vs. Leeds United

Cardiff is hoping to get at least sixth at the end of the league season in order to secure a place in the playoff round. The third to sixth placers of the EFL season will contest the third and final Premier League promotional spot in a two-round playoff. Cardiff City is in ninth spot at 54 points, two behind sixth-running Preston North End with nine matches to play. Etheridge is expected to remain on the sidelines for the EFL resumption after losing his starting spot to Alex Smithies in January. The 30-year-old Etheridge suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener last August, prompting him to miss the next 10 games. He returned in late-September and played the next 16 matches before Cardiff manager Neil Harris decided to put Smithies behind goal amid speculations that Etheridge is being wooed by Premier League side West Ham.
