Dela Rosa made the remark during an ambush interview following a security check/visit at the Araneta Center Bus Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City.
"Yes, we are ready," dela Rosa told reporters.
"So far iyung ating buong PNP ay naka full alert status, meaning 100 percent ng ating kapulisan ay nagdu-duty habang iyung ating mga mamamayan ay nagba-bakasyon at sinisuguro natin manatiling mapayapa iyung summer vacation para mag enjoy iyung ating mga kababayan (So far the whole PNP is in full alert status, meaning 100 percent of our policemen are on duty while the rest of the citizens are on vacation and we assure that the summer vacation will be peaceful so that the people will enjoy it)," dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa, at the same time, encourage force multipliers like barangay tanods and barangay police not to go on vacation to help police in securing the metropolis.
"Sana ay huwag na sila mag bakasyon at magduty rin. Ikutan nila mga village at subdivision kung saan karamihan ng mga tao ay nagsipag alisan, nagsipagbakasyunan, iniwan iyung bahay. Sana hindi ito mapasukan ng mga Akyat Bahay at Salisi (Hopefully they won't go on a vacation and they go on duty. They make the rounds on villages and subdivisions wherein most residents left their homes, go on a vacation. Hope Akyat Bahay and Salisi don't enter )," dela Rosa said.
The PNP chief, at the same time, said so far they have not monitored any threat from terrorism that could disrupt the observance of Holy Week and the summer vacation.
"But then again we are advising the public not to relax and remain vigilant especially in their surroundings para hindi tayo masingitan (so that they will not be victims )," he said.
Dela Rosa said the public can reach the PNP through hotlines 2286, 2920, 911
if they have any concerns or complaints.
The PNP earlier said it has stepped up its security preparations not only during the Holy Week but also summer vacation to prevent crime and any untoward incidents from happening.
From March 23 to June 13, police presence will be increased in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, especially in tourist destinations and places of convergence.
