Mayor Isko thanks Duterte supporters for backing his presidential bid
Presidential aspirant Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso thanked the supporters and political allies of President Rodrigo Duterte for backing his presidential bid this coming May 2022 elections.
"Maraming salamat sa mga DDS, sa mga Duterte die-hard supporter at mga kaalyado ni Pangulong Duterte na tumutulong sa atin (Many thanks to the DDS, the Duterte die-hard supporters and allies of President Rodrigo Duterte who are helping us.)," Domagoso said
Duterte's former and current Cabinet members, his local officials under PDP-Laban, and influencers and celebrities who had campaigned for Duterte gave their support for Domagoso's candidacy.
They said that the Manila Mayor is a "part of the administration family."
Domagoso's camp used the hashtag #ShiftToIsko a few days before former Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones, Interior Undersecretary Martin Diño, and pro-Duterte celebrity Vivian Velez attended the mayor's proclamation rally last Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Rizal Mayor Dennis "Tom" Hernandez endorsed Domagoso. He said that PDP-Laban members have been allowed to pick their own presidential candidates after Senator Christopher "Bong" Go's withdrawal.
Domagoso said that he still does not know if Duterte will support him.
"Hindi ko alam kung tutulungan ako ni Pangulong Duterte (I don't know if President Duterte will help me.)," Domagoso said.
The 46-year-old presidential aspirant previously refuted the reports calling him as the administration's secret candidate. He also rejected the "DuterteLite" tag on him.
