Commission on Elections (Comelec) Spokesman James Jimenez is at the Pope Pius XIII Catholic Center in Manila to find out the problem with the transparency server, thus delaying the sending of the latest poll result in relation to the 2019 mid-term elections.
In an interview by Jessica Soho' as part of GMA-7's special election coverage, he too would like to know firsthand the issue behind it.
"The information that we're getting is that nagkakaroon tayo ng technical issue. At this point I really can't give you a better explanation than that kasi nandito naman ako sa PICC the whole time," Jimenez said.
"But I'm on my way there now and then I'll find out and then I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I-explain natin 'to ," he added.
Jimenez agreed that it is bothering that there is a big gap in the reporting taking place.
"But I would like to emphasize also that the main track of the results is not the transparency server. It's a proclamation that goes step-wise, parang municipal canvassing, provincial canvassing, and then national canvassing. So 'yung is, in fact, a transparency measure," Jimenez said.
"But again I totally understand na medyo mahirap malunok 'yung ganitong sitwasyon so that's why I'm going over there now, and I'm going to find out exactly what's going on."
"For now it seems like the problem is only the reporting of the transparency server. Hindi sya nakakapag-generate ng report. That's something we need to figure out why," he added.
Jimenez said he hopes to have an answer before midnight.
