Cebu City – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in the Visayas is once again requiring 107,865 GSIS old age and survivorship pensioners to submit the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) to ensure that they continue to receive their pension.
GSIS Cebu Branch Manager Vilma Fuentes said GSIS launched a massive reactivation and information program in Central Visayas last Friday that will last until June 30.
Fuentes said during this period all pensioners not more 79 years old, regardless of their birth month, must go through the information revalidation process to reactivate their status.
Pensioners who are 1) 80 years old and above; 2) permanent total disability pensioners or those with a medical condition, 3) legal guardians of incapacitated (who are not survivorship pensioners) and/or dependent children and 4) old-age pensioners who are active GSIS members at the time are not required to report for APIR during the reactivation period, Fuentes said.
Pensioners living abroad and in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) are also exempted from APIR because they already have gone through the annual renewal process of GSIS.
