The arresting operatives also confiscated one piece plastic container, one piece of one thousand peso bill stacked up with boodle money, one piece improvised tooter, two pieces of disposable lighters, one piece small digital calculator, two packs empty plastic sachets and one cellular phone.
Cases for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 Art. II of RA9165 are being readied against the suspect.
The arresting team was led by PDEA Agent Jan Keith Capili under the direct supervision of Provincial Officer Gladys Grace Cruz.
Recognizing the occupational hazard faced by its personnel, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) earlier signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Arellano University (AU) granting educational scholarship privileges to the surviving children of PDEA agents killed in action.
PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino said the scholarship grant is also offered to the children of PDEA personnel who are either left permanently incapacitated after undergoing complete disability discharge proceedings or by meritorious reasons that makes them qualified for the scholarship.
“Under the agreement, the educational scholarship grant is available in all of AU’s seven campuses in Metro Manila for school years 2019 to 2023. The scholarship is for students studying in elementary, secondary and college,” Aquino said.
He said the educational privilege will be a “huge morale boost to our personnel’’.
“This has lessened the burden of financing the education of their children,’’ Aquino said.
To avail of the educational benefit, PDEA children must submit the necessary documentary proof that the grantee is indeed the surviving child of PDEA personnel who were killed in action or left totally disabled while in the line of duty.
Aquino said the admission of grantees to any of AU campuses is in accordance with the existing quota assigned and the programs offered subject to the existing laws and admission policies of the university.
However, the grantee must satisfactorily pass the course of instruction based on the approved standards of AU.
If the grantee fails to pass a subject, his/ her benefit shall be considered suspended.
The grantee has the option to retake the subject at his/her own expense.
