MB Daily News Update: Improving employment numbers in PH

The government reported that the number of jobless Filipinos has fallen to 2.9 million in January this year, slight down to 6.4 percent from 6.6 percent in December 2021, but way better than the unemployment rate of 8.8 percent recorded in the same month last year.

President Duterte has appealed anew to communist rebels to lay down their arms, urging them to make peace with the government.

The Chief Executive also said there was nothing illegal with cockfighting, and that the disappearance of 34 “sabungeros” was the work of “evil men”.

Meanwhile, the horror in Ukraine being waged by invading Russian forces continues with more atrocities and casualties being recorded each day.
