Top 10 Korean movie stars of 2018

The polling firm asked 1,700 Korean respondents from Nov. 7 to 30 who were their favorite Korean movie stars of the year. Getting first place is actor Ma Dong Seok with 19.9 percent. The actor starred in five films in 2018: “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” “Champion,” “The Soul-mate,” “The Villagers” and “Unstoppable.” Placing second is Ha Jung Woo with 18.6 percent. He starred in “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days.” Lee Byung Hun placed third with 11.2 percent despite that he starred in only one film this year: “Keys to the Heart.” Song Kang-ho, star of “A Taxi Driver,” placed fourth with 10.9 percent while Ju Ji Hoon, also a star in “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” grabbed fifth place with 7.3 percent. Others in the top 10 are Yoo Hae-jin of “Love+Sling” and “Intimate Strangers,” 6.4 percent; Jung Woo Sung of “Illang: The Wolf Brigade,” 6.2 percent; Hwang Jung Min of “The Spy Gone North,” 4.9 percent; Jo In-sung of “The Great Battle,” 4.6 percent; and Cha Tae Hyun of “Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds,” 4.1 percent.
