Antipolo hospital shuts down operating, delivery rooms for five days

The Rizal Provincial Hospital System (RPHS) has temporarily closed its operating room (OR) and delivery room (DR) after several of its staff tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post on Friday (April 16), Mayor Andrea Baustista Ynares announced that the OR and DR of the RPHS - Antipolo Annex I in Barangay Dela Paz will be closed until Tuesday (April 20) for disinfection measures.

The mayor assured that the rooms will undergo disinfection and that medical staff and their close contacts will be tracked by the city’s contact tracing team.

For emergency cases, Ynares advised the public to go to the other three public hospitals in the city namely the RPHS-Annex 2 in Barangay Dalig; the Antipolo City Hospital System 3 in Cabading; and the Antipolo City Hospital System-Annex 4 in Barangay Mambugan.

The city government has also announced the temporary suspension of the online registration for the COVID-19 vaccination program in the city pending the arrival of the vaccines from the Department of Health.

As of April 16, Antipolo City has recorded a total of 6,562 confirmed cases. Of this total number, 5,990 have recovered, while 145 died due to the disease.
