For good measure against any possible resurgence of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (MEID) decided to extend Alert Leve2 status in Metro Manila until the end of February.
This, as the OCTA Research Group has already given an assessment that COVID-19 risk in Metro Manila, as well as in the provinces of Quezon and Rizal, has remained low.
Meanwhile, the rollout of vaccination to kids aged five to 11 years old has expanded nationwide starting Feb. 14, 2022.
Motorists are also bracing for another round of increases in fuel – P1.20/liter for gasoline, and P1.05/liter for diesel – for the seventh consecutive week.
These are among the top stories this Monday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2022.

TOUGH LOVE – Members of the Gabriela party-list group and the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) stage a picket in front of a gasoline station on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Valentine's Day, Feb 14, 2022, to protest the seventh consecutive oil price hike in the first quarter of the year.
