Will Skechers be the new home of Yeezy?

According to a report, Ye was spotted at the brand’s headquarters 

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been facing major backlash from his behavior online and offline in recent events. The rapper has found himself in a difficult situation after his controversial statements regarding Jewish people and the “Black Lives Matter” campaign.

Let’s do a little recap of the partnership and deals which all went south after his conduct or should we say “misconduct.” Back in September, Gap terminated its partnership with Ye. Following through is Balenciaga, who he has worked closely with for the past years. It has also been publicized that Anna Wintour and Vogue will no longer be partnering with him. Recently, his 10-year planned relationship with Adidas has also come to an end.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” said the German brand.

“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect,” added Adidas.

In the same report, Adidas made it clear that all design rights of the existing products, as well as previous colorways and new colorways under the partnership are still owned by the company but will give an update about the brand on Nov. 9, 2022.

So what’s next for Ye? In a report made by TMZ, the rapper was said to be at Skechers’ headquarters uninvited, and turned away “immediately.” It has also been said that his purpose for coming to Skechers was to find “a new home” for his Yeezy shoes.

Still on the report made by TMZ, Skechers said that Ye “arrived unannounced and without invitation at one of Skechers’ corporate offices in Los Angeles. Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation.”
