Venue-goers and visitors are advised to brace for tighter safety and security checks upon entering the Mall of Asia Arena as management implements a precautionary measure against the possible spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease (2019-nCoV ARD).
In an advisory posted on its Facebook page, MOA Arena urged the public to read through its latest advisory before heading out to the venue. “We encourage everyone to be alert with personal care and hygiene; as your safety is our priority,” it said.
MOA Arena made this announcement prior to “Ode to You” world tour of K-pop group SEVENTEEN which was scheduled to push through on February 8, Saturday.
In order to “provide a safe and secure place” for its patrons, MOA Arena enjoined everyone to “remain calm and practice good personal hygiene while inside the venue.”
Among the security measures implemented is the mandatory temperature check before entering the venue. MOA Arena noted that alcohol dispensers have been made available at the entrances and other guest areas “so you can keep your hands clean by sanitizing frequently.”
Since the venue tends to be crowded during concerts and other events, the administrators assured that “we have increased frequency of sanitation and disinfection throughout the venue for your safety.”
Latest information from Department of Health (DOH) cites that that there are 215 persons under investigation (PUIs) in the country for possible 2019-nCoV. The Philippines has three confirmed cases of the 2019-nCoV involving Chinese nationals from Wuhan, China – a 38-year-old Chinese woman who is reportedly recovering; a 44-year-old Chinese man who died due to the virus; and a 60-year old Chinese female.
