The "one-time, big-time" intensified police operation conducted by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) against loose firearms yielded a total of 136 firearms of various types, ammunition, and led to the arrest of 28 individuals at midnight on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Col. Relly B. Arnedo, officer-in-charge of the BPPO said 11 drug dealers were arrested in a series of drug buy-bust operations by the police stations of Bocaue, Bulakan, Bustos, Malolos, Meycauayan, San Rafael and City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) and Angat.
Arrested were Ernesto Magsino Jr., Fidel Robles, Alexis Daracan, Joe Vernie Tolentino, Alvin Field, Rosemarie Apena, Analyn Bando, Jayson Vizconde, Jonathan Irenia, Peter Baldonado, and Louie Mangabat. Recovered from them were a total of 54 sachets of suspected shabu; five Cal. 38 revolvers with 17 bullets; two Cal. 45 pistol, one magazine and 10 bullets; one 9mm pistol with 4 ammunition, and one improvised pen-gun with one 9mm bullet.
A search warrant by the Pandi police in Barangay Malibong Matanda led to the arrest of Niko Martin and Emerlyn Alcaraz for possession of 25 sachets of suspected shabu and a cal. 38 revolver.
The Guiguinto police arrested two suspected drug peddlers identified as Guillermo Islabra and Yukio Kawahara after a consummated drug deal. Recovered from the suspects were three sachets of suspected shabu and a hand grenade.
A buy-bust operation by the San Miguel police and Provincial Intelligence Unit led to the arrest of Edmond Viudez of San Miguel and Allan Dela Cruz of Meycauayan City; and Domingo Beloro of CSJDM. Recovered from them were three units of caliber .38 revolver and the marked money.
More buy-bust operations conducted by operatives of the Hagonoy, Norzagaray, Marilao, San Miguel, and Meycauayan police led to the arrest of 10 drug suspects. Recovered were 29 sachets of suspected shabu; four sachets of marijuana, and the marked money.
Arnedo said a total of 136 firearms were recovered, 16 were seized during police operations including a hand grenade, 108 were turned over for safekeeping. while12 were voluntarily surrendered.
