Quinto came up huge in the waning minutes, scoring the last seven points for the Bolts to complete the come-from-behind win and tie with their victims at similar 3-3 win-loss records in the standings.
With Meralco down 79-81 heading into the last two minutes, Quinto took over and drilled a clutch right corner triple that put Meralco back in the lead for good.
The Bolts wingman scored from the foul line before converting on a transition basket off a huge Meralco defensive stop.
Stephen Holt and Juami Tiongson answered the call for Terrafirma and kept their team still well within striking distance, 85-83, before another split free throw from Quinto and a huge rebound from Cliff Hodge sealed the deal for the Bolts.
Quinto starred with 18 points and seven rebounds off the bench while Norbert Torres also stepped up big with 15 points – picking up the offensive load amidst the shooting struggles of usual suspects in Allein Maliksi, Aaron Black and Chris Newsome.
Raymond Almazan was the lone starter in double figures for Meralco with 14 points. Newsome and Black only had seven points to show while Maliksi only had six points, missing all of his five attempts from deep.
Terrafirma, which seemed to be in control for the most part of the contest after erecting a lead that went to as high as 11 points, struggled in finding the openings against Meralco’s solid defense in the final frame.
Holt and Tiongson continued to be the one-two punch for the Dyip after they both finished with 20 points apiece. Tiongson also hauled 10 rebounds and dished off six assist while Holt had five assists, four rebounds and two steals in a losing effort for the Dyip.
Birthday boy Aldrech Ramos and Juan Gomez de Liano also chipped in 11 points apiece.
