The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) finds itself going back to the drawing board after the previous winner of the 2018 PBA All-Star logo-making contest was disqualified.
According to PBA.ph, the committee in charge for the 2018 All-Star Weekend reversed its decision after the winner had violated rules of the contest. It turns out that the supposed winning design bared similarities to an e-sports logo.
Jan "JBlaze" Nadal, the former E-Sports head of Playpark Philippines, called the attention of Manila Bulletin Sports Online on the matter and gave his take on the matter.
"I was surprised when that logo came up, it looked too similar to the logo that me and my group made before during the conceptualization of the Playpark All-Stars last 2015"
"That logo has a lot of meaning when I, Arnel Duran and Mikey Marquez made it, esp to all our gamers that always took part in our annual event"
"I am proud of that logo. It was one of our milestones, that made a big difference in our game"
