Antipolo Cathedral releases Holy Week schedule

The International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Antipolo Cathedral) has released the schedule of activities to be held at the pilgrimage site this Holy Week.

Shrine rector and parish administrator Fr. Reynante U. Tolentino said they are expecting a bigger crowd of pilgrims this year following the recent declaration of the Antipolo Cathedral as the country’s first international shrine.

The following are the schedule of activities to be held at the shrine for this year’s observance of the Holy Week:

The Pabasa and Hapag ni Maria will be held on Friday, March 22.

On Palm Sunday, March 24, the Blessing of Palm Fronds (palaspas) and procession will be held at 7:30 a.m.

The Stations of the Cross will be held at 4 p.m. on March 25, Holy Monday, to be followed by a mass confession at 7 p.m.

The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held at 8 p.m. on March 26, Holy Tuesday, while a holy mass and procession will be held at 5 p.m. on Holy Wednesday.

On Maundy Thursday, March 28, the Chrism Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m., the mass in commemoration of the Last Supper will be held at 4 p.m., followed by the traditional Alay Lakad at 6 p.m.

Activities on Good Friday, March 29, include confessions at 7 a.m., the Seven Last Words at 12 noon, the Exaltation of the Cross at 3 p.m. and the procession of the Sacred Interred Christ at 6 p.m.

On Black Saturday, March 30, confessions will be heard at 8 a.m The Easter vigil will start at 8 p.m.

On March 31, Easter Sunday, the Salubong will be held at 3:30 a.m., followed by a holy mass at 4 a.m. An Easter ball will be held at 8 p.m.
