Barangay tanods foil plant theft attempt, arrest suspect

A 25-year-old man was arrested by barangay tanods of Barangay Dela Paz in Pasig City for attempting to steal various plants from a house on Saturday, November 2.

Based on the report, a CCTV operator from the barangay saw the suspect riding his bike in Camia Street when he suddenly stopped and took multiple plants from a house to sell for a profit.

The suspect placed the plants on his bike and immediately fled the scene.

Barangay tanods, riding a mobile, tried to flag the suspect in Sterly Street but the latter refused. This prompted one of the tanods to push him off his bike.

The suspect tried to escape the authorities by running but was eventually caught by them.

He is currently under the custody of the Pasig City Police.
